| About Us | The first step to establishing a workable business continuity plan is to understand your start point. Using the Acuity methodology as a benchmark, the output of a thorough review of existing BCP or major incident plans, internal procedures and business objectives is a report detailing the workability of existing plans, recommendations for immediate improvement and proposed next steps. The Acuity methodology is aligned with the British Standard BS 25999-2, and is based on four categories, which evaluate the prescription, delivery, culture and assessment of a business continuity plan. The guidance and principles within BS 25999-2 are recognised as the gold standard for business continuity planning and form the foundation of the forthcoming ISO standard. Internal plans are often found to be generally well structured. However, invariably the absence of any clear Business Continuity Management System (BCMS) priorities and objectives in the Strategy documents makes it unclear whether there is sufficient alignment across the various plans to protect the critical areas of concern. This review provides a fact based assessment of a company’s preparedness in the event of a total loss of people, facility or technology, and forms the foundation for development of a comprehensive Business continuity plan.
